November 13, invited by the Embassy of Czech Republic, faculty and students from the Department of Czech of HGU participated in the 100thAnniversary of the Establishment of Czechoslovakia held by the Embassy of Czech Republic. Faculty and students from the Department of Czech of Tianjin Foreign Studies University and Beijing International Studies University also took part in the activity.
The students and faculty were warmly welcomed by the Education Counsellor. As congratulations to the 100thanniversary as well as best wishes to the tie between China and Czech Republic, our students gave the self-edited book:Czech Republic in My Mindto the counsellor as a gift. The counsellor spoke highly of the book and said that he would like to help our university with the cooperation with the colleges and universities in Czech Republic.
During the ceremony, faculty and students from the three universities interacted with each other, achieving further knowledge on the relationship between China and Czech Republic, and had deep discussion on topics including the study and teaching of Czech language and study abroad.
After the event, the counsellor took a picture with the delegation of our university and invited them to attend the Christmas activity held by the embassy on December 17.
This ceremony is an impressive event that stimulates the students’ enthusiasm for Czech language, leads them to comprehensively ponder over the current international situation and the development of Sino-Czech relationship, and motivates them to actively take the responsibility of the promotion of the tie between the two countries.
