The School of Surveying Technology and Engineering includes 4 undergraduate programs, i.e., surveying technology and engineering, civil engineering, geo-information science and technology and geological engineering, 2 Master’s degree graduate programs, i.e., geo-detection and information technology, and 10 labs, i.e., provincial-level key lab of geo-detection and information technology, lab of disaster prevention and reduction engineering, national-level experimental center of geosciences, a branch of surveying technology and engineering, field observation base of geology in Lincheng, Hebei Province by Ministry of Land and Resources, field practice base in Qinhuangdao, soil mechanics lab, electrical lab, and seismic exploration lab.
The school has 4 teaching sections of surveying technology and engineering, civil engineering, geo-information science and technology, and geological engineering, with an experimental center of surveying technology and engineering. The school has accomplished, in recent five years, 50 research projects of national or provincial levels. 1 project has been granted the national invention patent, 2 projects have been awarded with the provincial or ministerial-level prizes, 80 academic papers have been published on SCI, EI and ISTP journals, and our projects have been aided with over 5 million yuan worth of research funds.
Graduates are qualified for engagement in engineering surveying, geology, engineering geology, hydrogeology, applied geophysics, geochemistry, remote sensing technology, geo-information system, resources and environmental science, varied engineering surveying technology, civil engineering, and planning and designing, construction, organization and management, and researches in the field of geological engineering.
