The School of Foreign Languages enjoys three departments of English, French and Czech, with 485 undergraduate students. English linguistics and literature is named a university-level key subject. In addition, there is also 1 provincial-level core subject, and 2 university-level core subjects.
The School of Foreign Languages has 8 national or provincial-level projects either completed or being under way. 5 academic books, 21 translations and 20 (or series of) course books have been published in recent years. 2 of them have been used nationwide in universities and 2 taken as the compulsory course books by the Ministry of Education. In addition, over 240 essays have been published, more than 70 of which have been published on the national-level journals.
The School of Foreign Languages has signed a cooperation agreement with universities ofUSA,UK, thePhilippines,Norway, and Czech in relation to exchanges and trainings of the teachers. The school encourages students to take an active part in varied kinds of regional or national competitions, such as the CCTV English contest, from which our students have won the gold medals, Star of Outlook English contest, from which our students have won the second prize, and 21st Century Cup Spoken English contest, from which our students have won the gold medals.
