At the invitation of Technical University of OStrava, Université Nice Sophia Antipolis and Russian State Geological Prospecting University, from March 19th to 28th, a delegation of HGU, headed by President Wang Fengming, visited the above mentioned universities. This visit has further strengthened the tie between HGU and the universities of countries alongside the Belt and Road.
The first stop of the visit was Tomas Bata University of Czech Republic. During the visit, the delegation had a deep discussion with the president and directors of related departments and signed a cooperation agreement.
On the next day, delegation attended the inauguration of the Confucius Classroom jointly built by HGU and the Technical University of Ostrava. After the ceremony, the two university held a meeting and achieved fruitful results on issues including joint education, student exchange, faculty training and research cooperation. During the visit, President Wang also met and conveyed greetings to the young faculty of HGU who are studying for their doctor’s degree there.
On March 21st, the delegation left for France. The first stop in France was Université Nice Sophia Antipolis. The two parties shared views and reached agreements on joint educated projects such as the French+ Business program, the English taught MBA program and other English taught business programs. Then, the delegation visited the École nationale supérieure de géologie of the University of Lorraine which is located in the northeast of France. It is a top institute for geological engineer in France. While meeting the dean and directors of related disciplines, the two parties held extensive discussion on issues including the joint education, faculty and students exchange, research cooperation in fields such as the development and sustainable utilization of mineral resources and the protection of water resources and environment. Broad agreement was reached during this meeting and laid solid foundation for more exchange and cooperation in the future.
On 25th, the delegation went to Moscow and was met by the president, vice-president and deans of Russian State Geological Prospecting University. On the basis of education and research cooperation, the two parties discussed the items of the Memorandum of Cooperation. During the visit, the university also organized a forum between the delegation and the Chinese students who were studying there.
This visit has successfully strengthened the mutual understanding and trust between HGU and foreign universities, broadened and deepened the cooperation areas with colleges and universities in Czech Republic, France and Russia.
